PURCHASES OF COLLECTION ITEMS ARE RECORDED AS DECREASES IN UNRESTRICTED NET ASSETS IN THE YEAR IN WHICH THE ITEMS ARE ACQUIRED OR AS DECREASES IN TEMPORARILY RESTRICTED NET ASSETS IF THE ASSETS USED TO PURCHASE THE ITEMS ARE RESTRICTED BY DONORS.
