What this covers, and what it doesn't
- Prime awards only: money a federal agency awarded directly. Subawards (a university passing money to a partner) are not included.
- Obligations, not payments: what the government committed in the fiscal year, net of any cuts to earlier awards.
- Awards to individuals (and county-level totals of them) are left out.
- Recipients are matched to Form 990 filers on name and zip code; a recipient that moved or reports under another name may not be linked.
