Explanation	The Council of State Governments Justice Center worked in FY 12 to advance criminal justice issues on Capitol Hill and with the Administration, including 1) efforts to ensure funding, reauthorization and the successful implementation of the Second Chance Act; 2) secure funding support for a Justice Reinvestment Congressional initiative; and 3) raise awareness on Capitol Hill about state corrections challenges, prisoner reentry and recidivism reduction efforts. The Justice Center educated policymakers in Oklahoma, Hawaii and Pennsylvania on justice reinvestment legislation being considered by the legislature that was developed out of analyses and technical that was provided to these three states at the request of their governor, legislative leaders, and other state officials. In Oklahoma and Pennsylvania we contracted with government affairs consultants to coordinate meetings with state legislators during the busy legislative sessions to provide them with the information regarding the legislation.
