| Activity Or Mission Description | Marklund enriches the lives of those with special healthcare needs by honoring the unique purpose of each individual. Those we serve are able to enjoy a full and meaningful life supported by a compassionate, nurturing environment; a strong partnership with the community; and an unmatched dedication to personal growth. Marklund currently serves over 190 clients. 117 are residential, and the remaining individuals come from the community to utilize our day programs. Many have complex medical problems that require 24-hour skilled nursing care provided at all of our homes. We have gained the trust of over 1,800 families for the residential and therapeutic needs for their children, and we continue to be a premier provider of these individualized services. Recently, we opened a life skills classroom at our Bloomingdale location to serve students with autism. | Mission Description | Residential Program: Long term care for severely and profoundly disabled infants, chidlren, and adults. Providing residential sevices to 117 individuals. Day Programs: We operate a private non-public school serving early childhood through high school. The school has just expanded to four classrooms for students along the autism spectrum; in total the Marklund Day School has capacity of up to 60 students. We currently serve 30. Community Program: Early Intervention program caters to children under 3 years old at their homes while the Respite program provides training for volunteer respite caregivers within the community.
