| Explanation | Sebasticook Regional Land Trust was a fully staffed organization from our founding in 2004 until 2016. Staff provided all administrative services, including working with our accountant to complete the annual tax filings. Beginning in 2017 we transitioned to a volunteer-driven organization with intermittent, part-time administrative support from an independent contractor. Volunteers and board members have been working to understand and manage more and more responsibilities. In 2019 our contractor relationship was terminated, placing all responsibilities with the Board. In the stress of this unexpected transition, we overlooked the filing of Form 8868, Application for Extension of Time to File.
