The SRLT continued its monthly speaker series, published educational articles and newsletters, and offered educational and recreational events open to all. It updated and maintained its web site to raise awareness of the Sebasticook River watershed. Schedule D, Part II, Line 9 The SRLT does not report conservation easements in its revenue and expense statement or balance sheet. Schedule D, Part III, Line 1 The SRLT received 2 Joseph Fiore paintings as a gift from the Falcon Foundation in partnership with Maine Farmland Trust in 2014. These pieces must be available for public viewing through 2019. Schedule D, Part III, Line 4 The SRLT collection is comprised of 2 original oil paintings by Maine artist Joseph Fiore. The works are part of the artist's Geological Works, which are used to encourage appreciation of the state's geology and natural environment. Schedule D, Part V, Line 4 SRLT funds are housed at and managed by Maine Community Foundation for the express purpose of stewardship and legal defense of the land trust's conserved properties. Form 990, Part IX, Line 11g $19,220 habitat restoration project support $8645 land stewardship contracted support $5100 land conservation support (appraisal fee) Form 990, Part XII, Line 1 The SRLT changed from accrual to cash accounting in 2018 as the organization shifted to all-volunteer and financials simplified accordingly Sebasticook Regional Land Trust was a fully staffed organization from our founding in 2004 until 2016. Staff provided all administrative services, including working with our accountant to complete the annual tax filings. Beginning in 2017 we transitioned to a volunteer-driven organization with intermittent, part-time administrative support from an independent contractor. Volunteers and board members have been working to understand and manage more and more responsibilities. In 2019 our contractor relationship was terminated, placing all responsibilities with the Board. In the stress of this unexpected transition, we overlooked the filing of Form 8868, Application for Extension of Time to File. We sincerely apologize for our oversight and are taking steps to assure our filing responsibilities are met for 2019 and in the years ahead.
