| Description | Community Living ServicesEnvision Unlimited's Community Living Services offer an array of residential options for adults with disabilities. The types of support vary - some programs provide 24-hour staff supports while others utilize supportive services per the needs of the person. Envision Unlimited offers housing solutions considerate of the individualize needs of the person served. In addition to housing, supportive staff, social interactions, and opportunities to engage fully within the community activities afford men and women with the possibility to discover something most valuable...a place which they are proud to call home.Referrals are made to Envision Unlimited through the Illinois Department of Human Services and Developmental Disabilities, the Illinois Department of Child and Family Services, Community Service Options (CSO) on the south side of Chicago and Community Alternatives Unlimited (CAU) on the north side of Chicago. | Description | Vocational ServicesEnvision Unlimited provides work and job placement services to men and women who are at least 18 years of age and who have a diagnosed developmental disability. The programs are licensed as Developmental Training sites by the Illinois Department of Human Services and are CARF accredited in Community Integration and Organizational Employment.We understand the value and need for work and are dedicated to helping individuals with disabilities reach their goals.Envision Unlimited connects people to community-based jobs and supported employment. If necessary, our job coaches work side by side with our clients until particular skills are mastered. We also provide training at five work centers throughout the city. At the work centers, subcontract work and products are manufactured for a variety of customers nationwide. At one of our work centers, we operate a pillow production plant that produces over one million pillows annually for major airlines, hotels, and medical centers. Two additional Envision Unlimited work centers create quilts, table linens and offer other sewing assembly services.We offer a full spectrum of work services that help people learn skills, gain experience and find jobs. | Description of Uncertain Tax Positions Under FIN 48: | Part X: | Envision Unlimited is exempt from federal income taxes under Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3). The accounting standard on accounting for uncertainty in income taxes addresses the determination of whether tax benefits claimed on a tax return should be recorded in the financial statements. Under this guidance, Envision Unlimited may recognize the tax benefit from an uncertain tax position only if it is more likely than not that the tax position will be sustained on examination by taxing authorities, based on the technical merits of the position. Examples of tax positions include the tax-exempt status of Envision Unlimited and the various positions related to the potential sources of unrelated business taxable income (UBIT). The tax benefits recognized in the financial statements from such a position are measured based on the largest benefit that has a greater than 50 percent likelihood of being realized upon ultimate settlement. The guidance for accounting for uncertainty in income taxes also addresses derecognition, classification, interest and penalties on income taxes, and accounting in interim periods. At June 30, 2011, there were no unrecognized tax benefits identified or recorded as liabilities. Envision Unlimited filed Form 990 in the U.S. federal jurisdiction and the State of Illinois. With few exceptions, Envision Unlimited is no longer subject to examination by the Internal Revenue Service for years before 2008. |
