Description	Humanitarian assistance to the Congo: Provided funds to help with the support of a 235 bed hospital and clinic. (more than 18,000 people helped during 2010). Additionally in 2010, funds were provided to purchase and install transformers to convert hydropower from a river nearby, as well as funding for planting 5 hectares of land for the production of biofuel for the benefit of the hospital. Provided funds to support two elementary schools (greater than 2,000 children served).Provided funds for the payments of stipends to priests of the diocese for their pastoral work. The efforts of Congo Relief Mission are for the benefit of people receiving less than $1/day or $300/year. The hospital and school serve the city of Mbujimayi. Mbujimayi is located in the center-south region of Congo, in the Eastern Kasai region. The third largest city in Congo, Mbujimayi, has a population of more than three million people. It is a largely underdeveloped area with a total lack of basic infrastructure. Only a small percentage of the people have access to electricity and running water. War, political uncertainty, and economic collapse have left many people without basic essentials, especially women and children. The hospital, clinic, diocese and schools help the most vulnerable members of society.	Description
