PROVIDED MANAGEMENT SERVICES AND MATCH FUNDING FOR IDA/MATCHED SAVINGS PROGRAMS STATEWIDE IN A MORE EFFICIENT STRUCTURE TO MAINTAIN QUALITY. SINCE 2007, THE 565 ENROLLED INVESTORS AT 20 MEMBER SITES SAVED OVER 369,000, EARNED A COMBINED MATCH OF MORE THAN 724,000, AND ATTENDED OVER 4,700 HOURS OF FINANCIAL AND ASSET TRAINING TO BUILD THEIR FINANCIAL CAPACITIES. THE 120 INVESTORS WHO GRADUATED IN 2010 HAD AN AVERAGE INCOME OF UNDER 25,000/YR, AND INVESTED IN OVER 9.9 MILLION WORTH OF HOMES, EDUCATIONS, SMALL BUSINESSES, AND OTHER ASSETS. LAUNCHED NEW ASSET-BUILDING PROGRAMS TO BRING A SIMILAR MIX OF INCENTIVES, EDUCATION, AND ACCESS TO TRANSITIONAL HOUSING CLIENTS, FAMILY SELF SUFFICIENCY CLIENTS, FORECLOSURE SURVIVORS, AND OTHER VERY LOW INCOME INVESTORS TO ASSIST WITH INVESTMENTS IN COMPUTERS, AUTOS, RAINY-DAY FUNDS AND OTHER INITIAL ASSETS ON THE ROAD TO FINANCIAL STABILITY. THE 62 NEW INVESTORS AT 3 MEMBER SITES MET THEIR INITIAL GOALS AND ACCRUED OVER 30,000 IN MATCHED SAVINGS. PROVIDED ON-LINE MANAGEMENT SERVICES AS A PARTNER IN MASS TAX AND ASSET CONSORTIUM (MTAC). NOW IN USE BY OVER 500 VOLUNTEERS AND MANAGERS IN 39 SITES ACROSS THE STATE, THIS MANAGEMENT PLATFORM ASSISTS COORDINATORS TO MANAGE THEIR VOLUNTEERS, SCHEDULES, DATA, AND SITES. IN THIS TAX YEAR, MTAC PARTNERS ASSISTED OVER 18,000 TAXPAYERS RETURN OVER 23 MILLION INTO THEIR HOUSEHOLDS AND THEIR COMMUNITIES. DEVELOPED AND DISTRIBUTED UPDATED, MASSACHUSETTS-SPECIFIC, FINANCIAL EDUCATION AND CONSUMER INFORMATION TO LOW AND MODERATE INCOME RESIDENTS AS WELL AS TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC. "STAYING AFLOAT: MANAGING YOUR FINANCES IN A CHANGING ECONOMY" IS A KITCHEN-TABLE RESOURCE OF MONEY-MANAGEMENT IN 4 LANGUAGES. OVER 60,000 COPIES AT OVER 200 ACCESS POINTS ACROSS THE STATE HAVE BEEN DISTRIBUTED. COORDINATED AND PROMOTED ASSET DEVELOPMENT PRACTICE AND POLICY IN MASSACHUSETTS, AT THE COMMUNITY, STATE, AND NATIONAL LEVELS, BY EDUCATING POLICYMAKERS AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC ON POLICIES THAT PROMOTE OPPORTUNITIES FOR WEALTH-BUILDING AMONG LOW-INCOME PEOPLE, HOSTING RELEVANT TRAININGS AND CONVENING'S, AND PROVIDING RESOURCES TO PUBLIC AGENCIES, PHILANTHROPIES, LEGISLATORS, PARTNERS, AND OTHER KEY STAKEHOLDERS. | Description |
