| Description | With the support of over 1,309 volunteers who contributed over 33,364 hours this year, Habitat for Humanity Seattle/South King County provided housing opportunities for 12 households through new construction and renovation, including 4 homes certified as 3-star Built Green thus providing healthier and more sustainable housing in our community. The Home Improvement Outlet diverted 478 tons of surplus building materials from the landfill and provided an affordable resource for donated surplus building materials to community residents and other affordable housing providers. We also partnered with youth programs and other local service providers, including adults with disabilities and formerly homeless youth, to provide job skills training on our construction sites and at our retail outlet. In addition, we mentored and trained 24 households in areas ranging from financial management to energy conservation to home repair and maintenance with the goal of long-term homeownership success. | Description |
