OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 5: COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS : SNW PARTNERS WITH RURAL COMMUNITIES TO DEVELOP INSTITUTIONAL LEADERSHIP CAPACITY IN ORDER TO ADVANCE LOCAL, COLLABORATIVELY DRIVEN SOLUTIONS TO NATURAL RESOURCE STEWARDSHIP ISSUES. OUR AIM IS TO ASSIST RURAL COMMUNITIES IN DESIGNING, IMPLEMENTING, AND MONITORING PROJECTS AND PROGRAMS THAT ADDRESS LOCAL NEEDS THROUGH THE INTEGRATION OF ECOLOGICAL, ECONOMIC, AND SOCIAL OBJECTIVES. WE PROVIDE FACILITATION, TECHNICAL ADVICE, NETWORKING, AND - IN A LIMITED NUMBER OF CASES - STAFF SUPPORT. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 6: SPECIAL PROJECTS: SUSTAINABLE NORTHWEST IS ALWAYS SEEKING INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS TO THE CHALLENGES THAT THE PEOPLE OF THE NORTHWEST FACE. CURRENTLY WE HAVE SEVERAL SMALL INITIATIVES UNDER SPECIAL PROJECTS WHICH ARE WORKING TOWARDS CREATIVE SOLUTIONS CENTERED ON THE INTERSECTION OF ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH, ECONOMIC GROWTH, AND RURAL COMMUNITY VITALITY. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 7: SUSTAINABLE NORTHWEST WOOD DISTRIBUTION CENTER, INC. (SNW WOOD) IS A WHOLLY OWNED, FOR-PROFIT SUBSIDIARY OF SUSTAINABLE NORTHWEST. SNW WOOD IS A DISTRIBUTUION YARD DEALING EXCLUSIVELY IN LOCAL AND SUSTAINABLE WOOD PRODUCTS. SNW WOOD FILLS A GAP IN THE SUPPLY CHAIN BETWEEN LOCALLY OWNED FORESTS THAT USE SUSTAINABLE LAND MANAGEMENT PRACTICES AND BUILDERS AND CONTRACTORS INTERESTED IN SOURCING LOCAL AND SUSTAINABLE WOOD PRODUCTS. |
