DIA'S FOCUS IS UNBIASED, PATIENT-CENTRIC TRAINING FOR THE WORLDWIDE MEDICAL COMMUNITY. DIA HAS GROWN TO A GLOBAL LEADERSHIP POSITION IN PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION, BEGINNING WITH TRADITIONAL IN-PERSON EVENTS AND EXPANDING INTO TECHNOLOGY-BASED, ELECTRONIC LEARNING MEDIA. THE NUMBER OF MEETINGS AND WORKSHOPS HELD HAS INCREASED FROM A TOTAL OF TWO EVENTS HELD IN THE UNITED STATES IN 1980, TO A TOTAL OF 370 EVENTS HELD WORLDWIDE IN 2011. THE DIA ANNUAL MEETING, THE LEADING GLOBAL CONFERENCE ON PHARMACEUTICAL INFORMATION AND EDUCATION, ATTRACTED OVER 6,800 PARTICIPANTS FROM THE US AND ACROSS THE WORLD. THE ANNUAL DIA EURO MEETING, WHICH ATTRACTED APPROXIMATELY 2,900 PARTICIPANTS, IS RECOGNIZED AS ONE OF THE PREMIER FORUMS FOR EXCHANGE OF INFORMATION IN THE EUROPEAN MEDICAL/PHARMACEUTICAL COMMUNITY. IN 2011, DIA CONDUCTED SIX EDUCATIONAL EVENTS IN JAPAN, ATTRACTING OVER 1,300 PARTICIPANTS FROM JAPAN AND OTHER COUNTRIES. IN 2011 DIA CONDUCTED ELEVEN EDUCATIONAL EVENTS IN INDIA, WITH PARTICIPATION EXCEEDING 900 PERSONS. IN 2011, DIA CONDUCTED SIX EVENTS IN CHINA, INCLUDING FIVE EDUCATIONAL WORKSHOPS, AND ONE ANNUAL MEETING. COMBINED, THESE EVENTS ATTRACTED OVER 800 PARTICIPANTS.
