Description	ProCon.org researches information from various websites and other sources to provide information on various topics of interest to the general public. ProCon.org has built and controls over 40 websites dealing with various topics of social interest, which are collectively referred to as the ProCon.org website. The ProCon.org website had over 23,500,000 sessions in 2012. It was used by more than 3,500 schools in all 50 states and 53 foreign countries. The ProCon.org website was also used by 11 international governments, 22 US states and 7 federal agencies. It was referenced by the mainstream media over 750 times (CNN, BBC, NPR, Forbes, NY Times, LA Times, Washington Post, PBS, Fox News, etc.). It had over 23,500,000 sessions during 2012 and that is a 63% increase over 2011. The website has been cited by various public officials and news services as an unbiased source of information on a wide variety of topics. The website has been cited by educators as a source of information and was used by 3,500 schools in all 50 states. The PROCON.ORG WEBSITE was ALSO USED BY 11 INTERNATIONAL GOVERNMENTS, 22 USA STATES AND 7 US FEDERAL AGENCIES. The use by schools and governmental units provides a valuable public service without using any taxpayer dollars. Sep. 5, 2012: The New York Times called ProCon.org "the most comprehensive tool for researching the candidates stance on issues in an article titled "Great Free Websites for Teaching Election 2012.Aug. 14, 2012: ProCon.org was one of 500 national nonprofits invited by the Laura & John Arnold Foundation to participate in their Giving Library project. The result, launched on Aug. 14, 2012, was a high-end video production explaining ProCon.org, our origin, our strengths, our funding needs, etc. Thank you to the Laura & John Arnold Foundation for generously funding the production and related expenses.July 25, 2012: For the fourth year in a row, ProCon.org gave a workshop titled "Using ProCon.org for Critical Thinking about Illegal Immigration" to about 100 Junior Statesmen of America (JSA) high school students attending JSA's "Gene A. Burd Symposium on Los Angeles Media and Politics" on the UCLA campus. In 2011, ProCon.org was recognized as being one of the top 25 Free Reference Web sites of 2011 by a division of the American Library Association along with TED, Google, and Wikileaks.In 2011, ProCon.org WAS Honored in the US Congressional Record on July 6, 2011 by Congressman Rob Andrews (D-NJ) who said our "unbiased and truthful presentation makes a tremendous contribution to the political system."
