IN FISCAL YEAR 2015, MRL ADDED WI-FI TO THE VILLAGE AND NORTH RIVER BRANCHES AND ADDED THE LANGUAGE DATABASE, PRONUNCIATOR, TO OUR REFERENCE RESOURCES. NEW PATRON COMPUTERS FOR BRANCHES WERE PURCHASED. AN NEH PRESERVATION GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $6,000 WAS AWARDED TO MRL FOR THE LOCAL HISTORY COLLECTION. AN ADULT SUMMER READING PROGRAM WAS INITIATED, AND ONGOING STAFF TRAINING WAS ENCOURAGED, WITH A SPECIAL "CUSTOMER SERVICE" WORKSHOP OFFERED IN THE SPRING. MRL'S "LONG-RANGE PLAN, 2015-2020" WAS ADOPTED IN JULY. HELD 1,433 ADULT AND CHILDREN'S PROGRAMS; ISSUED OR RENEWED 1,781 LIBRARY CARDS, PROVIDED 39,061 HOURS OF FREE COMPUTER TIME TO PATRONS, ANSWERED 32,784 REFERENCE QUESTIONS, AND RECEIVED 8,898 HOURS OF VOLUNTEER TIME. | Desc |
