WE ALSO HOSTED SOCIAL CALLS EVERY OTHER WEEK THROUGHOUT THE YEAR FOR PARTICIPANTS TO CONNECT, AND PROFESSIONAL SKILLS WEBINARS TO UPSKILL PARTICIPANTS IN TECHNOLOGY SKILLS. LEADERSHIP WE WRAPPED UP THE FIRST LEADERSHIP ACADEMY (LA) COHORT WITH 16 OUT OF 20 PARTICIPANTS COMPLETING THE FULL 18 MONTH PROGRAM. THE LA ENGAGED WITH ELEVEN ORGANIZATIONS WHO HOSTED INTERNSHIPS OF EITHER 12 AND/OR 25 WEEKS IN LENGTH FOR SURVIVORS OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING IN THE LA. THIS ALLOWED LA PARTICIPANTS TO SERVE IN TWO INTERNSHIPS. WE ALSO PROVIDED SIX WORKSHOPS FOR INTERNSHIP SUPERVISORS ON TRAUMA-INFORMED SUPERVISION AND ESTABLISHED THE COLLECTIVE PRACTICE LAB TO SUPPORT WELLBEING FOR PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS. IN SEPTEMBER 2023, WE LAUNCHED SURVIVORS LEAD UK, ENROLLING 10 PARTICIPANTS IN THE SECOND COHORT OF THE NINE MONTH PROGRAM. FIVE PARTICIPANTS RETURNED FROM THE FIRST PROGRAM, AND FIVE NEW PARTICIPANTS WERE RECRUITED. TWO FORMER PARTICIPANTS RETURNED AS COURSE FACILITATORS. EMPLOYMENT PATHWAYS WE LAUNCHED THE PEMBROOK FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM WITH EIGHT PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS SERVING IN PART-TIME OR NEARLY FULL-TIME EMPLOYMENT ROLES IN THE ANTI-TRAFFICKING SECTOR. THIRTY-SIX PEOPLE APPLIED FOR THE 8 SPOTS, AND APPLICANTS RAISED FROM PEOPLE WITH PHDS TO NASCENT INDEPENDENT CONTRACTORS. WE PROVIDED ALL 8 HOST ORGANIZATIONS WITH AN INITIAL ORGANIZATIONAL ASSESSMENT ABOUT THEIR CURRENT SURVIVOR INCLUSION EFFORTS AND CAPACITY, THE FUNDAMENTALS OF ALLYSHIP TRAINING, AND TRAINING ON TRAUMA-INFORMED SUPERVISION. WE MET MONTHLY WITH SUPERVISORS AND FELLOWS TO CHECK IN ABOUT THE PROGRAM, AND PROVIDED MONTHLY TRAUMA-INFORMED SUPPORT COACHING. MOVEMENT BUILDING SURVIVOR ALLIANCE SELECTED 60 SURVIVOR LEADERS FROM ACROSS 20 COUNTRIES TO TAKE PART IN A SIX-MONTH-LONG MULTILINGUAL AND MULTICULTURAL STRATEGIC PLANNING PROCESS TO DEVELOP AN ACTION PLAN FOR SURVIVOR LEADERSHIP. LEADERS WERE DIVIDED INTO SIX WORKING GROUPS ACCORDING TO THE DIFFERENT THEMATIC TOPIC AREAS. THEN, THEY MET TO COLLECTIVELY IDENTIFY GOALS AND DEMANDS FOR EACH OF THE SELECTED THEMES.AFTER THE WORKING GROUPS, SURVIVOR ALLIANCE FACILITATED FIVE SURVIVOR-ONLY FEEDBACK SESSIONS TO ENSURE THAT THE VOICES OF THOSE WHO WERENT ABLE TO JOIN THE WORKING GROUPS DUE TO THEIR LIMITED CAPACITY WERE INCLUDED. EIGHTY-TWO SURVIVORS FROM ACROSS 12 COUNTRIES MET TO REVIEW THE ACTION PLAN AND PROVIDE THEIR INPUT AND RECOMMENDATIONS. AN ADDITIONAL 55 SURVIVORS REPRESENTING 10 COUNTRIES SUBMITTED THEIR WRITTEN FEEDBACK. THE ACTION PLAN FOR SURVIVOR LEADERSHIP 2023-2033 WAS LAUNCHED IN DECEMBER 2023. ADDITIONALLY, WE CO-HOSTED TWO LIVED EXPERIENCE EXPERT GROUPS (LEEGS) WITH WALK FREE. THEY WERE HELD IN BRAZIL AND THAILAND, WITH DIVERSE GROUPS OF SURVIVOR LEADERS IN THE AREA. SURVIVOR ALLIANCE WORKED CLOSELY WITH A LEAD NGO IN THE HOST COUNTRY TO PLAN THE LOGISTICS OF THE THREE-DAY WORKSHOP AND TO ADAPT THE METHODOLOGY TO MEET THEIR LOCAL CONTEXT. |
