| Desc | The SFSP is a USDA funded program, which BOLD Ministries has operated since 2009 as an Administrative Sponsor. As an Administrative Sponsor of SFSP, BOLD Ministries provides free summer meals to children eighteen years and under at programs and organizations located in areas of need throughout the Atlanta Metropolitan Area. Through the SFSP, BOLD Ministries reaches out to at-risk children who normally receive free or reduced meals during the school year. During the summer months, many children still need to receive nutritional meals in order to stay healthy and have a great start to the next school year.In the capacity as an Administrative Sponsor, BOLD Ministries has the responsibility of organizing and convening several organizations in the local community as well as in outlying areas. The management of the SFSP has become a very wide scale project during the summer months and continues to increase exponentially each year. The SFSP project entails collaboration, outreach, training, and coordination of resources in order to operate as a successful project.Over the past five years, the service that BOLD Ministries provides through the SFSP has progressively increased every year. For instance, our statistics on the number of meals we provided and the number of sites served are as follows:In 2009, 5 sites with 20,000 meals servedIn 2010, 15 sites with 49,000 meals servedIn 2011, 27 sites with 80,000 meals servedIn 2012, 53 sites with 149,000 meals servedIn 2013, 60 sites with 158,965 meals served.In 2014, 62 sites with 189,965 meals servedIn 2015, 65 sites with 170,778 meals served These statistics are a reflection of meals provided to children and feeding sites during the summer months.In addition to serving as a Sponsor of the SFSP, in 2013, BOLD Ministries launched Project L.E.A.P. (Living Exceptionally Afterschool Program), an at-risk CACFP approved afterschool program located in a predominantly Latino community where 95% of the children receive free or reduced meals during the school year. In 2015, BOLD Ministries also launched Project L.E.A.P. in an apartment complex in Decatur, Georgia serving children in an afterschool setting. Project L.E.A.P. is another avenue where BOLD Ministries can address hunger issues by providing free snack and supper meals as well as enrichment activities to the children. Since 2013, the meals that BOLD Ministries provides, through Project L.E.A.P has also progressively increased every year. The following statistics pertain to meals served through Project L.E.A.P:2013 afterschool meals - 100 2014 CACFP meals 5,4302015 CACFP meals 14,157BOLD Ministries continues to increase opportunities to serve children in need and help to promote No Kid Hungry. Additionally, in 2015, BOLD Ministries launched a countywide child hunger initiative to fight hunger in Rockdale County. The initiative brought together several community stakeholders to develop a strategy and a plan to fight hunger by addressing barriers and needs for hungry children. The initiative resulted in a collaborative movement to provide more meals for children during the summer months and afterschool. BOLD Ministries worked diligently to develop partnerships and a collaborative approach to meet the needs of the children in the community of Rockdale County. We are so thankful for the opportunity to not only feed Georgias kids but also to provide employment to college students during the summer months as well as several adults whoare unemployed.
