Desc	metro atlanta chamber 2017 results Grow - advocate - promote - operate Grow The Metro Atlanta Chamber works with partners from around the region to drive economic impact and create jobs. - Drove total economic development output of $4.4 billion, 157.1 percent of the years goal. Generated 650 leads and 396 projects leading to the creation of 10,879 jobs (14,097 indirect) by years end 120.9 percent completion of the initial goal of 9,000 jobs. - Led one of the years biggest successes with the announcement of Switch a Nevada-based tech company making a $2.5 billion investment in Douglas County. Switch may be the largest private capital investment in the history of Georgias economic development efforts. - Launched new initiatives around IoT and cybersecurity, including IoT.ATL and CyberWeek. Continued to reinforce the regions reputation as a FinTech, digital supply chain and global health leader. - Launched Backed by ATL to support seven high-growth companies in target industry clusters. - Led establishment of the inaugural Atlanta Corporate Innovation Summit. - Shared Atlantas innovation narrative at 14 national and local activations. - Continued work to prioritize and execute international economic partnerships. Atlanta named one of only eight U.S. metros participating in the Brookings Global Cities 2.0 initiative. - Took metro Atlantas story to the world. MAC traveled to 35 U.S. cities and 22 countries, and ChooseATL, MACs leading edge next-gen movement, reached more than 1.5 million through live experiences and garnered a Gold Award from the International Economic Development Council. - Drove narrative of metro Atlanta as a hub for logistics. Earlier this year, Deloitte ranked Atlanta as the nations #2 metro area for digital supply chain, just behind New York City. The study named the region as one of the most important global logistics centers in the U.S. Advocate The Metro Atlanta Chamber works to maintain a business-friendly climate for all people. - Continued to advocate for legislation that supports business growth and lobbied for additional funding to enhance transportation infrastructure and increase transit options. - Rallied around education initiatives in early childhood and K through 12, including Learn4Life, which works to align educational resources for student success. Additionally, the Your Talent Your Future 2.0 study was released to continue to emphasize the need for the right talent to fill in-demand positions. - Continued to work with the Georgia legislature for pro-business legislation and to protect Georgias reputation as the #1 state for doing business. Promote The Metro Atlanta Chamber works to tell Atlantas story to the world. - Continued to elevate metro Atlantas reputation as a premier sports destination as the Atlanta Sports Council gears up with the city to host the College Football Playoff National Championship and the Major League Soccers All-Star Game in 2018, the Super Bowl in 2019 and the NCAA Mens Final Four in 2020. - Moved one step closer to hosting the FIFA World Cup in 2026. - Showcased metro Atlantas unmatched quality of life and career opportunities through ChooseATL. ChooseATL is also leveraging the regions strengths and helping to build its talent pipeline. Since the organizations inception in 2015, this talent movement has reached more than 1.5 million young people through live experiences and helped make the region a top location for millennials and tech talent. - Launched THEA in beta, a video platform showcasing the best of Atlanta through its creators. - Marked a year of more intentional communication to staff about MACs strategic plan, collaboration and values. These efforts led to higher engagement and improved results. - Ended the year with the launch of "atlanta is now" narrative to promote the talent, quality of life and growing ecosystems in the region. MAC delivered this message before 2,000 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium and at the New York Stock Exchange, elevating Atlantas brand for the world. - Completed audience analysis which provided insights that will improve efforts to reach CEOs, entrepreneurs, site selectors and other key audiences. - Tested innovative marketing tactics directly targeting CEOs, site selectors and other influencers through LinkedIn, paid search and grassroots outreach. - Successfully protected Atlantas reputation with strategic efforts in response to the I-85 bridge collapse, comfort women monument controversy and Confederate monument debate. PART X LINE 2	ASC 740-10 (formerly known as FIN 48) The Companies account for uncertainty in income taxes recognized in accordance with ASC Topic 740, "Income Taxes" that clarifies the accounting for uncertainty in income taxes and sets a consistent framework for preparers to use to determine the appropriate level of tax reserve to maintain for uncertain tax positions. In accordance with ASC Topic 740, the Companies' policy for recording interest and penalties associated with tax positions, if assessed, is to record such items in the Statements of Activities and Changes in Net Assets.
