Schedule D, Part V, Line 4Funds drawn down from endowment are used for scholarships, debt service, and general operation expenses.
Schedule D, Part X, Line 21. The University is a non-profit as described in Section 501(C)(3) in the internal revenue code and qualifies as an organization exempt from federal and state income taxes except to the extent it has taxable income from activities that are not related to its exempt purpose. No provision for income taxes were required for fiscal years 2018 or 2017. Accounting principles generally accepted in the United States of America require management to evaluate tax positions taken by the University and recognize a tax liability if the University has taken an uncertain tax position that more likely than not would not be sustained upon examination by the IRS. Management is not aware of any tax positions taken by the University that would require recognition of a liability or disclosure in the financial statements. The University is subject to routine audits by taxing jurisdictions; however, there are currently no audits for any tax periods in progress.
Schedule D, Part XI, Line 4bScholarships and investment return decreased by the portion of cumulative net depreciation designated for current operations.
