THE NEW FRAMEWORK RESPONDS TO OUR STAKEHOLDERS INPUT AND SET THE STAGE TO STRENGTHEN IFIP AND ITS PROGRAMS AT A TIME WHEN COLLABORATION AND COMMITMENT TO ADVANCING INDIGENOUS RIGHTS AND ISSUES IS IMPERATIVE.DURING THE REPORTING YEAR, IFIP LAUNCHED NEW PROGRAMS AND INITIATIVES SUCH AS IFIPS LEARNING INSTITUTE - A PROGRAM DESIGNED TO ENHANCE FUNDERS CAPACITY TO BE EFFECTIVE PARTNERS TO INDIGENOUS PEOPLES. THE LEARNING INSTITUTE IS THE ONLY PHILANTHROPY INSTITUTE LED BY AN ALL INDIGENOUS FACULTY. IFIP ALSO LAUNCHED A WORKING GROUP ON INDIGENOUS TERRITORIES AND A WORKING GROUP ON INDIGENOUS WOMEN TO PROVIDE PEER-TO-PEER LEARNING WITHIN AND ACROSS GEOGRAPHIES AND PROMOTE AND IMPROVE COORDINATION AMONG FUNDERS. IFIP USED COMMUNICATIONS VEHICLES TO INFORM THE FIELD, PUBLISHED A SERIES OF FUNDERS BRIEFINGS AND HOSTED WEBINARS ON TOPICS AND ISSUES OF IMPORTANCE. LASTLY, IFIP ONBOARDED A NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR AS OF JULY 2017, INVESTED ON STAFF TRAINING, AND FOCUSED ON STRENTHENING ITS FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT AND OPERATIONAL CAPACITY. IFIPS NEW DIRECTION AND PROGRAMS SUPPORT IFIPS GLOBAL COMMUNITY TO EXPAND A COMMUNITY OF PRACTICE BEYOND ITS MEMBERSHIP TO A WIDER SET OF FUNDERS ACTIVE ON INDIGENOUS ISSUES. MEMBERS REACH OUT TO PRIVATE FOUNDATIONS, NGOS, INDIGENOUS PEOPLES ORGANIZATIONS, PRIVATE SECTOR, AND ALLIED GOVERNMENT AGENCIES TO DRAW IN THE VARIETY OF STAKEHOLDERS NECESSARY TO MAKE PROGRESS ON THESE COMPLEX ISSUES. IFIP ACTS AS A BRIDGE, CONNECTING MEMBERS WITH KEY PLAYERS ACROSS IFIPS GLOBAL COMMUNITY AND IN THE WIDER WORLD.AS A THEORY OF CHANGE IFIP ACCELERATES THE SELF-DETERMINED DEVELOPMENT OF INDIGENOUS PEOPLES THROUGH IMPROVING THE RESPONSIVENESS OF INDIGENOUS PEOPLES FUNDING. OUR NEW STRATEGIC FRAMEWORK GUIDES OUR EFFORTS TO ADDRESS DIVERSITY, EQUITY AND INCLUSION IN PHILANTHROPY- AS WELL AS - PROMOTE A SYSTEMS CHANGE AND STRENGTHEN INDIGENOUS PEOPLES RIGHTS. KEY AMONG THESE IS THE NEED TO CHANGE PARAGIMS, TRANSFORM PHILANTHROPY FOR GREATER PARTNERSHIPS AND EQUITY BY INCREASING THE FUNDING AVAILABLE FOR INDIGENOUS LEADERSHIP AND INDIGENOUS PEOPLES ORGANIZATIONS TO REALIZE THEIR LIFE PLANS AND SECURE THEIR RIGHTS.IFIPS GLOBAL AND REGIONAL CONFERENCES SERVE IFIP MEMBERS AND INFLUENCES THE FIELD OF PHILANTHROPY.
