| Desc | CHILDREN'S FLIGHT OF HOPE PROVIDES AIR TRANSPORTATION FOR CHILDREN TO ACCESS SPECIALIZED MEDICAL CARE. BOTH COMMERCIAL AND PRIVATE OPTIONS ARE AVAILABLE, AND THROUGH A PARTNERSHIP WITH AMERICAN AIRLINES, CFOH IS ABLE TO SUPPORT INTERNATIONAL REQUESTS. ALL CHILDREN MUST BE MEDICALLY STABLE AS CFOH IS NOT AN AIR AMBULANCE SERVICE AND NO MEDICAL SUPPORT IS PROVIDED DURING THE FLIGHT. WITHOUT CFOH, MANY FAMILIES WOULD BE FORCED TO POSTPONE CARE, DRIVE THOUSANDS OF MILES, OR FORGO TREATMENT ALTOGETHER. ALL CHILDREN SERVED BY CFOH EXPERIENCED IMPROVED ACCESS TO HEALTH CARE. WHILE THEIR INDIVIDUAL PROGNOSES ARE UNIQUE, WE HAVE CLASSIFIED THEIR CURRENT HEALTH STATUS, AS RELATED TO THEIR PRIMARY DIAGNOSIS, INTO ONE OF FOUR CATEGORIES TO QUANTIFY OUTCOMES: THRIVING, IMPROVED QUALITY OF LIFE, IN-TREATMENT, AND END-OF-LIFE. IN WORKING WITH ALL OF OUR FAMILIES, OUR PROGRAM TEAM HAS GAINED TREMENDOUS PERSPECTIVE, NONE MORE POIGNANT THAN FAMILIES WHO EXPERIENCE THE LOSS OF A CHILD. IN THOSE MOMENTS, WE HAVE BEEN TOLD BY THESE FAMILIES THAT CFOH NOT ONLY SUPPORTED THEM DURING A DIFFICULT TIME, BUT ALSO GIFTED THEM A SENSE OF PEACE IN KNOWING THEY DID ALL THEY COULD TO MAKE THEIR CHILDREN WELL. WE HOLD THESE FAMILIES ESPECIALLY CLOSE TO OUR HEARTS.OUR VARIETY OF FLIGHT OPTIONS ENSURES ALMOST ANY CHILD CAN GET TO THE BEST TREATMENT AVAILABLE, REGARDLESS OF MEDICAL, FINANCIAL, OR LOGISTICAL CONSTRAINTS. EVERY CLIENT GOES THROUGH A TWO-STEP VERIFICATION PROCESS TO ESTABLISH BOTH MEDICAL AND FINANCIAL NEED. ONCE ACCEPTED, WE PROVIDE AIR TRAVEL FOR THE DURATION OF THEIR TREATMENT PLAN.TO PROVIDE THIS AIR TRAVEL IN 2019, CFOH PURCHASED COMMERCIAL FLIGHTS AND PRIVATE CHARTER FLIGHTS. ADDITIONALLY, AMERICAN AIRLINES AND SOUTHWEST AIRLINES DONATED COMMERCIAL FLIGHTS, AMOUNTING TO MORE THAN $1.1 MILLION WORTH OF AIRLINE MILES TO SUPPORT OUR MISSION. THESE MILES ARE ALSO USED TO SUPPORT INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN SEEKING SPECIALIZED CARE HERE IN THE US.COMPANIES THAT HAVE BUSINESS AVIATION DEPARTMENTS DONATED THE USE OF THEIR AIRCRAFT AND CREW TO CFOH ). NOT ONLY DOES THIS DONATION SUPPORT THE FAMILY TRAVELING THAT DAY, IT ALSO ALLOWS CFOH TO REALLOCATE THOSE FUNDS TO SUPPORT MORE FAMILIES IN NEED.
