During the 2021 fiscal year we provided a 3-Day, 4-Day, STEAM and Afternoon program. The 3-Day program meets Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and runs from 8:30-12:30 and is for children ages 3 - 4. The 4-Day program meets Mon-Thurs and runs from 8:15-12:15, and is for children who will enter Kindergarten the following year. The STEAM program meets on Fridays from 8:15-12:15 and is for children ages 3-5. And, the Afternoon Program runs Mon ~ Fri from 12:15-3:30 for 3-5 year olds, as a stand alone program or added to the morning to create a full day. Each class includes: Generous amount of time in which each child is encouraged to choose activities, explore, discover, touch, create, pretend, and relate to others; Clean-up time where all pitch in and several have specific jobs to do; Group time focusing on music and movement, conversation, stories, and problem solving; Snack time in which the children taste a wide variety of foods (Snacks and lunch are provided by the parents; some of the snacks are prepared by the children);Time for gross motor activities outdoors (or indoors when the weather doesn't cooperate.) All activities are planned by the classroom teacher to stimulate social, emotional, intellectual, and physical growth in your child. This play-based, education program provides children ages 3-pre-k with hands-on experiences in nature. As they explore the nature that surrounds us in the Upper Valley, the children have the opportunity to follow their curiosity, explore the elements in all seasons, and experience all the wonder and excitement that the outdoors has to offer us. Together, they design and create an outdoor exploration space, make tools, explore the creek and river, listen and observe, build forts, hike trails, create art, learn new songs, and play outdoor games. They research NH and VT native species of animals, plants and insects, and the habitats needed to support these species. The children investigate and create their favorite species using science, math, language, and art.
