| Explanation | LEXISNEXIS RULE OF LAW FOUNDATION HAS GIVEN GRANTS TO HISTORICALLY BLACK COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITY LAW SCHOOL STUDENTS IN LAW SCHOOL WHO MEET THE APPLICATION CRITERIA AND PROPOSE PROJECTS OF MERIT WHICH WOULD SERVE TO ADVANCE THE RULE OF LAW AND TO END SYSTEMIC RACISM IN THE LEGAL SYSTEM. THERE IS A ROBUST EXAMINATION BY A JUDGING PANEL ON HOW THE STUDENTS' PROPOSALS MET BOTH CRITERIA. FELLOWS HAVE WEEKLY CALLS WITH LEXISNEXIS VOLUNTEERS WHO CONDUCT IN-PERSON MEETINGS TO PRESENT THEIR PROJECT OUTCOMES AND FINDINGS. REPORTS OF FELLOWS ARE PUBLISHED ACADEMICALLY. THE FUNDING IS USED SOLELY FOR TUITION NEEDS OF THE STUDENTS. LEXISNEXIS ALSO PROVIDED GRANT MONEYS TO THE LEGAL KID FOUNDATION, A 501(C)(3) BASED IN NORTH CAROLINA. THIS GROUP WORKED WITH ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS ON RULE OF LAW PROJECTS THAT WERE MONITORED AND SUPPORTED BY LEXISNEXIS VOLUNTEER ATTENDEES. LEXISNEXIS RULE OF LAW FOUNDATION PROVIDED GRANT MONEYS TO A PROGRAM IN NORTH CAROLINA SCHOOLS ENTITLED SNAPOLOGY. THE PROGRAM TOOK PLACE OVER TWELVE WEEKS TWO TIMES A WEEK. THE PROGRAM BUILT STEAM EDUCATION WHILE ALSO EDUCATING STUDENTS ON THE ELEMENTS OF THE RULE OF LAW.
