| Explanation | In 2003, ECCHO received recognition as an organization exempt from federal income tax pursuant to Section 501c6 of the United States Internal Revenue Code. In June 2006, the Financial Acounting Standards Board issued FASB ASC 740, Accounting for Uncertainty in Income Taxes. FASB ASC 740 clarifies the accounting for uncertainty in income taxes recognized in an entitys including non-profit organizations financial statements. This interpretation prescribes a recognition threshold and measurement attribute for the financial statement recognition and measurement of a tax position taken or expected to be taken in a tax return. In addition, FASB ASC 740 provides guidance on derecognition, classification, interest and penalties, accounting in interim periods, disclosure and transition. ECCHO files an annual information return. With few exceptions, ECCHO is no longer subject to U.S. federal income tax examinations by tax authorities for years before January 1, 2009. As of December 31, 2012 and 2011, ECCHO has taken no uncertain tax positions for which recognition in the financial statements would be required. | Explanation |
