Description	CanCare is a network of trained volunteers including cancer survivors, family members of cancer survivors and medical professionals who provide emotional support to others facing cancer. CanCare trains groups of volunteers four+ times a year. The 17-hour training course is broken up over three days and is designed to prepare volunteers to help others cope with the physical, emotional, psychosocial and spiritual aspects of their cancer experience. Following this training, volunteers may attend continuing education and support opportunities to learn more about cancer and the needs of cancer patients and their families.Volunteers donated 6,466 hours to CanCare during 2012 to visit in Hospitals, and to work one-on-one with cancer patients and their families in the Houston, TX area, Atlanta, GA area, and Colorado Springs, CO area. Volunteers also work with patients all over the world.	Description

The Board sets the compensation levels for the President and Executive Vice President, and the total compensation budget.
Form 990, Part VI, Line 12c	Form 990, Part VI, Line 12c: Explanation of Monitoring and Enforcement of Conflicts	The Board Oversight Committee along with CanCare's legal counsel meet annually to review all board actions and activities to make sure they comply with the By Law's and all written policies. In addition, all new board members go through an extensive orientation that includes a review of the Conflict of Interest Policy. Each new member receives a manual with the by-laws and all board policies, which is reviewed during this meeting.
