The Organization recognizes interest expense and penalties on income taxes on uncertain tax positions in support elements expenses on the statement of activities and change in net assets and accounts payable and accrued liabilities in the statement of financial position. There is no provision in the financial statements for penalties and interest on income taxes on uncertain tax positions for the years ended September 30, 2014 and 2013. The Organization is not aware of any activities that would jeopardize its tax-exempt status. For tax years prior to 2011, the Organization is no longer subject to examination by the IRS or the tax jurisdiction of Virginia. |
