| Activity Or Mission | Family Promise of Beaverton is a non-profit 501(C)(3) organization providing transitional housing for families experiencing homelessness within the Beaverton School District. Our program is community based. Through our partnerships with volunteer hosting sites at churches and community organizations, we provide temporary shelter and meals to homeless families in our program. Family Promise of Beaverton also provides support through case management and family advocacy to help our guest families find employment, child care, healthcare, training and education, as well as other barriers to stable housing. | Desc | Case Management: Our trained case manager helps the families create a workable plan to overcome barriers that have prevented them from sustainable housing in the past. The plan may include steps to finding a job, community resources for medical and dental care, or childcare. Through regularly scheduled meetings and assessments, the case manager tracks progress to the plan for each family. During these meetings they may discuss ongoing issues or concerns including: family budget monitoring through the examination of income, expenses and continued debt reduction; employment; parenting; trauma informed care; and true family emergencies. As an extension of our overall program, we continue case management services with families who have moved into stable housing. Many of our families do not have a family or community support system. We can help these families become self-sufficient, and at the same time help them to integrate in their new community and begin to develop a community support system. | Desc |

| Desc | Hosting : There are thirteen hosting locations, comprised of churches and community organizations, providing housing and meals on a volunteer basis for a week at a time multiple times per year. We opened our doors to host our first family on April 30, 2018. From that day through the end of 2018, we provided 2425 bed nights and 7275 meals for the families in our program. Volunteers are the heart of Family Promise of Beaverton's Hosting. Approximately 400 volunteers trained in 2018 provided a variety of services: cooking & serving meals, playing with children or helping them with homework, and staying overnight with our guests at the host locations. This first year of hosting required Family Promise to purchase cots and bedding that travel from host location to host location on a weekly basis. We do not expect to need to replenish these supplies on a yearly basis. Depreciation costs of our van and trailer used to convey guests and materials to and from host locations are included. | Desc |
