| PART X, LINE 2: | The Virginia Arts Festival, Inc. is an organization described in Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and is exempt from federal and state income taxes. Exempt organizations are subject to tax on income from regularly conducted trade of business activities that are not substantially related to the organization's exempt purpose. Returns are generally subject to examinations for three years from the date filed. This period of limitations has expired for returns filed for tax years before 2018.Management continually evaluates tax positions reflected in the Festival's tax filings and does not believe that any material uncertain tax positions exist. VAF Realty, LLC (Realty) is organized as a single-member limited liability company. The Virginia Arts Festival, Inc. is the sole member of Realty. As such, Realty is considered a disregarded entity for income tax purposes and its net assets and activities are included in The Virginia Arts Festival, Inc.'s tax return. |
