The model advances street outreach work and develops a diverse and sustainable workforce by engaging young people who live in neighborhoods that are at a high risk for violence to serve as Peacekeepers. Independent oversight recusal from related decisions and board auditor review of financial matters ensure transparency and prevent any actual or perceived conflict In addition to clearly defined roles and the presence of several other positions such as Program Manager and a external Accountant who provide independent oversight and hold supervision and approval authorities we have implemented several other safeguards to mitigate potential conflicts of interest Board Oversight: All major financial and strategic decisions are subject to review and approval by an independent Board of Directors which includes no family members and ensures impartial oversight.
Part VI, Line 11a	The Form 990 was prepared by an independent preparer in collaboration with management. Upon completion of the draft return the Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer conducted a detailed internal review for accuracy and completeness. The draft Form 990 was then provided to the Board of Directors prior to filing. The Board was given the opportunity to review the return ask questions and provide feedback. Any recommended revisions were incorporated prior to final submission. The final return was approved by an authorized officer of the organization before filing with the Internal Revenue Service.
Part VI, Line 12c	The organization monitors compliance with its policies through annual disclosures regular board oversight and documented internal controls. All board members officers and key employees are required to review and acknowledge applicable policies annually. Conflict of interest disclosures are collected each year and updated as needed throughout the year. Any potential conflicts are reviewed by the Board of Directors and when appropriate the interested individual recuses themselves from discussion and voting. Management is responsible for day-to-day enforcement of operational policies and compliance matters are reported to the Board. Any violations are addressed promptly and documented in board or committee minutes.
Part VI, Line 15	The organization follows a formal process to determine compensation for its Executive Director and key employees. Compensation is reviewed and approved by the Board of Directors or a designated Compensation Committee composed entirely of individuals without a conflict of interest. Members with a financial interest in the compensation arrangement do not participate in the deliberation or vote. In determining appropriate compensation the Board reviews comparability data which may include compensation studies publicly available Form 990 data from similarly sized nonprofit organizations industry salary surveys and market benchmarks relevant to the organizations size geographic location and program scope. The Board documents the basis for its compensation decisions contemporaneously in meeting minutes including the data reviewed the members present any recusals and the final vote approving the compensation arrangemen
Part VI, Line 19	The organization makes its governing documents conflict of interest policy and financial statements available to the public upon written request. Requests may be submitted via email or mail to the organizations principal office. Copies are provided in accordance with applicable federal and state disclosure requirements.
