| Description | Activity Center - IYG serves young people ages 12-20 who self-identify as lesbian, gay, bi-sexual, transgender or questioning (LGBTQ) and their friends. The activity center is open Wed-Fri evenings serving 578 unique with 3,400 total visits. All programs are free. Youth socializing or participating in programs are adult supervised at all times. IYG is a safe place to build self-confidence, explore individualism and develop friendships within a community that values fairness, acceptance, respect for diversity and equality. Since 1987, IYG has been a positive force impacting thousands of LGBTQ youth. A significant accomplishment, since 2008, was for IYG going through the accreditation process and becoming and remaining an affiliate of the United Way of Central Indiana. | Description |

| Description | Anti-Tobacco Program and Prevention - The tobacco usage by Lesbian and Gay youth is between two and three times higher than their heterosexual peers. It is felt that the rate is even higher for transgender youth. The normal adolescent stressors are magnified for LGBT youth for many reasons (social stigma, rejection and bullying). It is through IYG's anti-tobacco program that IYG strives to eliminate some of those additional stressors by forming and supporting Gay Straight Alliances in high schools and helping LGBT groups around the state to start youth services. Just the presence of a GSA in the high school has been proven to reduce the incidents of harrassment due to sexual orientation and gender identity and increase attendance by LGBT students. Staff visited and provided capacity building to 32 high schools and worked with over 640 youth and adult sponsors. | Description |

| Description | HIV Prevention and Cyber Outreach Program - IYG's cyber outreach program is a very unique technique of decreasing the at-risk behaviors with young people, especially young men having sex with men. Through this program, a trained staff member enters chat rooms online and gives information and answers questions concerning safe and unsafe sex, the use of illegal drugs and their impact on at-risk behaviors, as well as information on testing sites in central Indiana. Periodic health notices are also posted with current statistics or outbreaks in HIV or STD's in central Indiana. The cyber outreach worker averages 15-16 hours per week and makes between 15 and 20 contacts per month, and posts health alerts weekly. | Description |

| Form 990, Part III, Line 4d | Form 990, Part III, Line 4d : Other Program Services Description | OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 4: LGBT Film Festival: Held each November since 2001, the LGBT Film Festival is dedicated to celebrating diversity through cinema and has played a key role in our Indianapolis's cultural and artistic identity. Films are submitted, reviewed and juried in classes such as shorts, youth shorts, documentaries and festival films. The three day event is produced entirely by a group of volunteers dedicated to bring Indianapolis the best of new LGBT cinema. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 5: Community Education and Cultural Competency Training: Community education is the key to changing attitudes. Through education IYG strives to help parents be more accepting and understanding, help other social service workers be more sensitive and aware of the complications that being LGBT might have on the lives of the youth they serve, and help the community in general become a more welcoming place for LGBT youth. Workshops and cultural competency training are developed for parents of LGBT youth, social service workers, juvenile justice workers, foster parents, medical personnel and educators. Speaking engagements are provided to many community organizations, churches, service groups and college classes. Over 700 individuals participated in some type of workshop, training or speaking engagement given by IYG. IYG also works with the Indianapolis Public Schools, other area school districts and with the Juvenile Court in order to make their staff more informed and sensitive to the additional stresses associated with being an adolescent and LGBT. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 6: Youth Summits and Leadership Development: IYG produces 2 youth summits per year. The spring youth summit focuses on youth leadership in high school Gay Straight Alliances and also provides capacity building for adult sponsors. The fall summit is open to all LGBT youth age 12-20 and is a Saturday full of educational workshops, fun activities and food. IYG's Leadership Development program is woven into the fabric of IYG's programming. Opportunities for leadership are routinely available through the Youth Council (which makes decisions about the center's rules and programming), representation on the Board of Directors, event committees (talent show, pride floar, prom, etc.) and GSA leadership. Youth also participate in speaking engagements given to college classes, community gtroups and youth service workers.
