Drug abuse is a preventable behavior. Key programs include: "Play Healthy," "Healthy Competition," "Sweet Talk Tools for Families," "Habla Con Tus Hijos," "Padres 360." More than 6.5 million people visited our website at drugfree.org in 2010 seeking tools and tips. Millions of parents and teenagers see and hear our public service messages every day. Also more than 36,000 people - parents, law enforcement agents and community leaders - have been trained in our Parents360 and PACT360 prevention programs. | Description | Intervention Discovering that a child is using drugs or alcohol can be a scary experience for parents. That's why our intervene resources offer step by step advice and guidance from top substance abuse experts, family therapists, scientists and fellow care givers to guide parents to take immediate action. More than 100,000 parents and caregivers come to www.drugfree.org to seek intervention help and read our e-books on intervention. The Partnership stresses the importantce of getting a professional assessment for a child's substance abuse problem. The Partnership's Annual Partnership attitude tracking survey (PATS) is the longest running national research study of parents & teen behaviors & attitudes about drug and alcohol use in the US. | Description | Treatment and Recovery Addiction is a disease that almost always begins in adolescence. Parents can find a clear path to information and support for substance abuse treatment by going to www. Drugfree.org/time to get help, or by calling our new bilingual parents toll free helpline 1-855-DRUGFREE, staffed by licensed social workers. 9 million American teens and young adults between ages of 12 - 25 need treatment for substance abuse. Of the 6.5 million who visited www.drugfree.org in 2010, over 25% of those parents and caregivers sought information from us regarding treatment and recovery issues. Developed for launch on April 1, 2011 a new bilingual toll free helpline assists callers in planning a course of action for their kids, guiding them towards appropriate resources or treatment facilities 1-855-DRUGFREE. | Description |
