ORGANIZATION'S COLLECTIONS OF ARTPART III, LINE 4The Saint Joseph college art gallery opened in 2001 in the new Carol Autorino center for the arts and humanities; it now houses a collection of over 2000 works of art. A paintings collection that is focused on American art of the twentieth century, including works by Thomas Hart Benton, Georgia O'Keefe, and Milton Avery, is complemented by a collection of works of art on paper that ranges from sixteenth century European prints to nineteenth century Japanese woodblock prints and contemporary American works. With six exhibition galleries, a print study room, and up-to-date art storage facilities, the saint Joseph college art gallery has made the college's collection more accessible and has opened myriad opportunities for the study and enjoyment of art. Each year special exhibitions are presented in addition to changing installations of the permanent collection. A variety of educational programs are offered for the college community and the general public.
ENDOWMENT FUNDSPART V, LINE 4The College's endowment consists of approximately 140 individual funds established for a variety of purposes, including both donor-restricted endowment funds and funds designated by the College to function as endowments (quasi-endowment). The College manages its long-term investments in accordance with the total return concept and the goal of maximizing long-term return within acceptable levels of risk. The College's spending policy is designed to provide a stable level of financial support and to preserve the real value of its endowment. The College compares the performance of its investments against several benchmarks.
