DescriptionReconstructive TraumaHughston Hospital offers the only orthopedist specializing in traumatology in the region. Hughston's advanced reconstructive trauma services offers patients more treatment options for multiples broken bones in multiple limbs, broken bones that don't heal correctly or a severe injury.Often, traumatologists are consulted about a severely injured patient who is en route to the hospital so they can be in the emergency room when the patient arrives. This allows the traumatologist to be involved in what has become known as the "Golden Hour" of trauma care. During this period, decisions have to be made rapidly with very little time for reflection. Although all orthopedists treat common injuries, the Hughston traumatologist is sought out for the definitive care of the most complex problems.Description
