| Activity Or Mission Description | The mission of the Association of Childrens Museums is to build the capacity of childrens museums to serve as town squares for children and families where play inspires creativity and lifelong learning. The most significant activities to achieve this mission include the following: creating leadership initiatives in the areas of health (Good to Grow!), early childhood education and play (Playing for Keeps) and diversity (Diversity in Action); promoting the value of childrens museums through the Web site and with the media; leveraging collective opportunities for the field such as the Reciprocal Membership Program and Asian Exhibit Initiative; strengthening the network of individuals who work or volunteer in childrens museums through professional development opportunities such as the annual InterActivity conference; and building the capacity of childrens museums to achieve sustainability and growth through efforts such as robust data collection. | ActivityOrMissionDescription |
