Description	THE AGENCY OPERATES THREE HOMELESS SHELTERS FOR ADULTS IN THE CITY OF PORTLAND. THE SHELTERS PROVIDE BASIC SHELTER (BOTH MEN'S SHELTERS ARE DORMITORY STYLE) FOR UP TO 55 WOMEN AND 180 MEN. RESIDENTS IN THE SHELTER PROGRAMS ARE PROVIDED WITH A VARIETY OF DIRECT ASSISTANCE AND SUPPORT, INCLUDING CLOTHING, AN EVENING MEAL, BUS TICKETS, AND LAUNDRY FACILITIES. ALL SHELTER RESIDENTS ARE IN CASE MANAGEMENT AND ARE REQUIRED TO SHOW PROGRESS TOWARD INDEPENDENCE AND SELF-SUFFICIENCY AS A REQUIREMENT OF THEIR CONTINUED STAY IN THE SHELTER. ALL THREE SHELTERS ARE ALCOHOL AND DRUG FREE. FUNDING FOR THE SHELTERS COMES FROM PUBLIC SUPPORT, THE CITY OF PORTLAND (PORTLAND HOUSING BUREAU), AND FEDERAL FUNDS. THE DR. RODNEY GLISAN CENTER HOUSES 90 MEN AND HAS BEEN IN OPERATION SINCE THE EARLY 1980S. JEAN'S PLACE OPENED IN 1997 AND SHELTERS 55 WOMEN. CLARK CENTER OPENED IN 1998 AND SHELTERS 90 MEN. THE DR. RODNEY GLISAN CENTER, JEAN'S PLACE, AND CLARK CENTER ANNEX OFFER SPECIALIZED SERVICES TO VETERANS THROUGH A GRANT FROM THE VETERANS ADMINISTRATION.
