| Description | Facilitating the permanent placement of children with special needs in adoptive homes throughout the United States. In our quest to find forever families for waiting children, The Adoption Exchange has helped to find permanent homes for 6,623 children since 1983. In fiscal 2010, we served 1,215 waiting children, 393 of these children were placed in loving adoptive homes. Our web site, www.adoptex.org had an average of slightly over 1,200 visits each day; profiled 1,194 children in our searchable database; and provided video stream profiles of 143 waiting children. In additon, 23,892 individuals received one-on-one answers to adoption inquiries and requests for advocacy or information, while 7,182 adoptive families and professionals received one-on-one post-adoption information and support in various forms. | Description |
