| Part V, Line 4: | Description of Intended Use of Endowment Funds: | The School's endowments consist of eight individual funds, all established to generate support for the School's general operations, tuition assistance and programs. Its endowment includes donor-restricted endowment funds and funds designated by the Board of Trustees to function as endowments. The School has adopted investment and spending policies for endowment assets that will ultimately provide a predictable stream of funding to programs supported by its endowment while seeking to maintain the purchasing power of the endowment assets. | Part X: | Description of Uncertain Tax Positions Under FIN 48: | The School is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as an organization exempt from income taxes on related activities under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and Section 23701(d) of the California Revenue and Taxation Code. The Financial Accounting Standards Board issued new guidance on accounting for uncertainty in income taxes. Management evaluated the School's tax positions and concluded that the School had maintained its tax-exempt status and had taken no uncertain tax positions that require adjustment to the financial statements.
