99391637945318696366School of Nursing, established in 1905, was the first school of Loma Linda University. The school now boasts approximately 5,000 alumni. Currently it has 435 undergraduate and 138 graduate students. There are 20 students in the off-campus Africa program. The school offers students an Associate of Science degree, Bachelor of Science degree, or a Masters degree, and is acredited by the Commission of Collegiate Nursing Education. In the last few years the School has had Master's programs in Thailand and South Africa that were designed to help train and educate foreign instructors that would be able to go and develop Master's programs in their own countries. Also, the School helped a college stay accredited in Japan by associating with it and sending teachers to help in their program. Locally in the San Bernardino, California area the School helps by accepting students into a special program to give them an opportunity to become nurses. The School also sends instructors to a health clinic several days a week to work for them and help the disadvantaged. The School helped with foreign grants to students in the foreign masters programs by waiving tuition and fees that totaled approximately $400,000.
