| Description | VUMH provides for the housing, health care and financial security needs of aged persons at its five continuing care retirement communities and one assisted living facility in Virginia. VUMH is also the sole member of Virginia United Methodist Homes of Williamsburg, Inc., which owns and operates a continuing care retirement community in Williamsburg, Virginia. Each of these residential communities provides for the physical, emotional, recreational, social and religious needs of the elderly through specialized programs. These communities serve a diverse range of residents with excellent, compassionate care in a Christian environment. VUMH provides (directly and through third-party arrangements) for the health care of the elderly through skilled nursing care, assistance with activities of daily living, memory (including dementia and Alzheimer's) care, physical therapy and related health care services. VUMH is committed to providing for the financial security of its residents in compliance with the standards applicable to a public charity. Consistent with this commitment, VUMH has established the Samaritan Program, through which funds are solicited by various means on behalf of residents who may become unable to pay a portion or all of their expenses, including direct solicitation of members of the United Methodist Church. | Description |
