| Description | CAA, Coach Across America, is the first nationwide effort to mobilize young adults to be coaches in community- and school-based sports programs in our nation's most underserved neighborhoods. As the number of issues facing youth in underserved communities rises-33% of children are overweight or obese by 3rd grade, 25% drop out before finishing high school, 800,000 are involved in gangs-Up2Us believes trained coaches/mentors delivering quality sports programs can be the solution. And it is: 91% of CAA youth participants show an increase in positive attitudes towards physical activity. Overall, the Coach Across America program has allowed more than 75,000 youth to get off the sidelines and play on a sports team with their peers and a coach/mentor. | Description |
