| Description | CPEDV's Technical Assistance and Training Program (TAT) assists domestic violence service providers, advocates and allied professionals in learning new skills and adopting best practices to enhance their ability to provide quality services to all victims of domestic violence. Our training initiatives are designed to address the emerging issues that intersect with domestic violence. We schedule trainings throughout the year on frequently requested topics, and topics identified through our annual TAT needs assessment.Overall Goal: Strengthen the capacity of direct service advocates and service organizations by providing TAT to provide high quality support & interventions for survivors of domestic violence throughout the State.10/11 Activities and Annual Progress:# Trainings/Webinars Conducted 41# Training/Webinar Attendees1404Technical Assistance Provided309# Meetings Attended 333"Host Annual Meeting and Leadership Training Institute.oCompleted CPEDV's 2010 Annual Membership Meeting and Training Institute: CPEDV houses more than 200 resources which includes, but is not limited to: resource guides, toolkits, handbooks, brochures, curricula, training manuals, CD Roms/Videos, conference materials, reports and journals. Resources and materials are available to member programs through a lending library, as well as available on-line through CPEDV's website.Overall Goal: CPEDV will serve as an information clearinghouse and resource center.10/11 Activities and Annual Progress:oThroughout the year, CPEDV sent out weekly "Information & Updates" to our membership list serve.In collaboration with NNEDV and The Allstate Foundation, CPEDV disseminated approximately 295 manuals and 30 "Moving Ahead Through Financial Management" training guides. oCPEDV developed and disseminated our 2010 Training Calendar.oCPEDV responded to 424 requests for assistance from survivors of domestic violence. Overall Goal: To support domestic violence programs' efforts to increase awareness and education efforts for Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM) by supporting our member agencies to strengthen efforts at local and regional levels; creating visibility through the media at a press conference; addressing and working with collaborative members; and providing educational and resource information that is easily accessible for individuals and organizations from across the State.10/11 Activities and Annual Progress:. oCPEDV posted DVAM information on our website including the 2010 DVAM Calendar, links to radio and television coverage of DVAM events.oCPEDV queried our members and developed and disseminated the 2010 DVAM Calendar featuring 54 events which took place throughout California.oCPEDV purchased and disseminated 2000 DVAM ribbons.CPEDV staffed outreach tables at 2 local community events. CPEDV works closely with the Judicial Council of California in their work around the judicial system's response to violence against women. Within the Judicial Council, the Administrative Office of the Courts' (AOC) Center for Families, Children and the Courts (CFCC) sponsors the Violence Against Women Education Project (VAWEP) Planning Committee, which is an initiative designed to provide the courts with information, educational materials, training and technical assistance relating to the court's role in responding to domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking cases.10/11 Activities and Annual Progress:"CPEDV served on the Judicial Council's Violence Against Women Education Project (VAWEP) Planning Committee."CPEDV continued to work with our Public Policy and Research Committee (PPRC) on the "Domestic Violence Contempt Implementation Initiative" (implementation of our 2008 priority bill SB 1356, which took effect on January 1, 2009, prohibiting judges from incarcerating domestic violence victims when the victim is held in contempt for refusing to testify in court). oThe PPRC Subcommittee worked on an implementation plan for SB 1356 including developing a | Description |
