Description	HUMANITIES PROJECT GRANTS: Grants were awarded to non-profit organizations in order to support public humanities projects (such as history, language, literature, philosophy, ethics, jurisprudence, archeology, comparative religion, art history & criticism, ethnic studies, social sciences, etc.). The NDHC has three types of grants available for humanities projects: quick grants ($500 or less), small grants ($3,000 or less), and large grants (greater than $3,000). The NDHC awarded 7 quick grants, 6 small grants and 10 large grants (23 grants total).	Description

Description	ON SECOND THOUGHT MAGAZINE: The purpose of the "On Second Thought" magazine is to give readers a humanities perspective on current issues in an entertaining and highly readable format. The NDHC published two issues during the year: a "Think Indian" issue and a "Judge Davies" issue. Description	KEY INGREDIENTS: The NDHC partnered with Prairie Public Broadcasting to create four mini-documentaries dealing with historical and contemporary food issues. These mini-documentaries were aired on Prairie Public Broadcasting and will also be used in conjunction with a Smithsonian-produced exhibit on food and american life. This review and approval of compensation adjustments last took place at the October, 2011 NDHC Board of Directors meeting.
