| Explanation | The grant to the NAS is for reimbursement of NAE expenses. Expenses are monitored and reviewed on a monthly basis as well as being reconciled by both corporations at the end of the year. Additionally both corporations have exteral auditors and the NAS has internal and DCAA auditors on the premise during the year. All other grants are for awards given for various engineering achievements. Each award has its own criteria, nominating form (which is on the website), and selection committee.
