Description	2011 Accomplishments:Recruited and selected our first pilot class of 50 clients from an applicant pool of 150Assembled all resources (e.g., text books, classroom facilities, technology) required to start training for our inaugural class in January 2012.Designed our entrepreneurship training curriculum for Phases I and II.Built referral partnerships with 25 NYC prison re-entry and social service providers.Established training partnerships with NFTE, ACCD, and Sandler Training.Conducted multiple focus groups with prospective clients, donors, and referral partners.Partnered with several professional firms to provide pro bono products and services, including pro bono legal services from Dewey Lebeouf; Capital IQ, a leading database of private sector investors, CEOs, and executives; and Salesforce, which donated a database that was customized to track client and organizational outcomes.Contracted with The Ito Partnership, a marketing and branding firm to develop Defy's website and marketing collateral.Attracted high-caliber governing and advisory board members with affiliations to Stanford Graduate School of Business, Leader to Leader Institute, AT&T, Stanmore Capital Partners, Bloomberg, UBS, Dewey Leboeuf, among many others.
