| Description | Since 1946, the Jewish Federation of Southern Arizona has served as the central fundraising and planning organization of Southern Arizona's Jewish community. The annual Federation/United Jewish Communities Campaign is the lifeline of our community - providing humanitarian, educational and cultural services to a Jewish community numbering more than 28,000, including hundreds of volunteers.Our beneficiaries provide nonsectarian services to the entire Tucson community. In addition, funds raised by the Campaign support rescue and relief efforts for Jews and non-Jews in 60 countries around the world.The Federation's program arms include:The Coalition for Jewish Education, which operates a High School, adult education, youth philanthropy and youth readership programsThe Arizona Jewish Post and Jewish Tucson.org are the primary communications vehicles for the local Jewish community.The Outreach Connection, which makes sure that individuals who are newcomers or newly involved are welcomed and involved.The Weintraub Israel Center, which helped to nurture the relationship between the local community and the people of Israel.Major recipients of Federation funding are:The Jewish Federations of North America (formerly United Jewish Communities)The Tucson Jewish Community CenterHandmaker Jewish Services for the AgingTucson Hebrew AcademyJewish Family and Children's ServicesU of A Hillel Foundation | Description |
