| Description | "Omaha Performing Arts Presents" is the major presenting series of OPA and includes performances of the highest quality by artists and ensembles at venues including the Orpheum Theater and the Holland Performing Arts Center. Performances span a wide variety of genres in six series of performances: Broadway, Popular Entertainers, Dance, Jazz, Classical and 1200 Club at the Holland. The "Omaha Performing Arts Presents" series continues to attract new performers and patrons to the Omaha community each season. | Description | Omaha Performing Arts is dedicated to reaching all members of the community through its education and community involvement programs. These programs help to eradicate barriers that often prevent certain groups of citizens from having regular access to the performing arts. Throughout the past six seasons, OPA has increased the number of active participants in programs such as Arts Access and the Student Matinee Series, which provide free or deeply discounted tickets to students, educators, and community groups. OPA has also established a network of community organizations that it partners with in order to bring both new and established audiences to the arts. Collaborations have taken place with the Omaha Symphony, Opera Omaha, Broadway Dreams, Omaha Public Schools, The Rose Theater, BluesEd, University of Nebraska - Omaha Jazz Studies program, African Cultural Connection, Omaha Children's Museum, Film Streams, Omaha Modern Dance Collective, Joslyn Art Museum, Lied Center for Performing Arts (Lincoln, NE) and others. Prior to the conclusion of the fiscal year, and in conjunction with the budget preparation process for the subsequent fiscal year, the President shall be responsible for recommending the compensation and benefits for these positions. The development of the final compensation package may use market-based data that is independent of OPA. In addition, an outside consultant may be engaged to conduct an independent review periodically as determined by the President or Board of Directors to ensure that the information is timely and appropriate. Based on this assessment, the President shall make a recommendation for officer compensation which shall be submitted to the Board of Directors for final approval as part of the budget process prior to the end of the fiscal year. |
