Description	WE PROVIDED MEDICAL, DENTAL AND NUTRITIONAL AID TO INDIVIDUALS LIVING IN THE HIGHLANDS OF GUATEMALA WHO WERE PLAGUED WITH WITCHCRAFT, ILLITERACY, AND VERY POOR LIVING CONDITIONS. SINCE OUR ARRIVAL IN THE HIGHLANDS, INFANT MORTALITY RATES AND DEATHS OF SMALL CHILDREN HAVE PLUMMETED TO THEIR LOWEST LEVELS. WE ALSO INSTITUTED A "FOOD FOR THOUGHT" FEEDING PROGRAM THAT ALLOWS FAMILIES TO SEND THEIR CHILDREN TO SCHOOL (RATHER THAN MAKING THEM WORK TO PROVIDE FOOD FOR THE FAMILY) AND IN EXCHANGE THE FAMILIES RECEIVE MONTHLY PACKAGES OF RICE, SUGAR, BEANS, AND INCAPARINA (A HIGHLY NUTRITIONAL DRINK). SINCE IMPLEMENTING THE PROGRAM THE CHILDREN'S SCORES, WEIGHT, HEALTH, AND THE OVERALL WELLBEING OF THE FAMILIES HAS GONE UP.
