Description of Uncertain Tax Positions Under FIN 48:Part X, Line 2:Accounting principles generally accepted in the United States of America requires entities to evaluate, measure, recognize and disclose any uncertain income tax positions taken on their income tax returns. Management has evaluated the impact of this standard and believes that it does not have a material impact on the amounts reported in the College's consolidated financial statements. The College recognizes accrued interest and penalties associated with uncertain tax positions, if any, as part of the income tax provision. There was no income tax related interest and penalties recorded for the years ended December 31, 2012 and 2011. The tax returns of the College for the years ended December 31, 2009, 2010, and 2011 are subject to examination by the Internal Revenue Service and other various taxing authorities, generally for three years after they were filed.
