| Description of Uncertain Tax Positions Under FIN 48: | Part X, Line 2: | CHANGE, Inc. is exempt from income taxes under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Accordingly, no provision for income taxes is included in the accompanying financial statements. Accounting principles generally accepted in the United States of America require management to evaluate tax positions taken by the Organization and recognize a tax liability (or asset) if the Organization has taken an uncertain position that more likely than not would not be sustained upon examination by the IRS. Management has analyzed the tax positions taken by the Organization, and has concluded that as of December 31, 2012, there are no uncertain positions taken or expected to be taken that would require recognition of a liability (or asset) or disclosure in the financial statements. The Organization is subject to routine audits by taxing jurisdictions, however, there are currently no audits for any tax periods in progress. The Organizations federal Return of Organization Exempt from Income Tax (Form 990) for 2009, 2010, and 2011 are subject to examination by the IRS, generally for three years after they were filed. |
