| Activity Or Mission Description | As the frontline law firm for poor and low-income individuals throughout Los Angeles County for over 80 years, the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles (LAFLA) works to provide clients with access to fundamental services: food, housing, employment, safety and security. LAFLA is the first place to which thousands of poor people turn to when they need legal assistance for a crisis that threatens their homes, health and livelihood. In 2012 nearly 13,000 individuals and families were provided with legal assistance and more than 55,000 were offered legal information and education. LAFLA operates four (4) Self Help Legal Access Centers at local courthouses in Inglewood, Long Beach, Torrance and Santa Monica. LAFLA has three (3) courthouse domestic violence clinics.
