| Description | For 25 years Big Thought has had a goal to make imagination a part of everyday learning. We have evolved beyond an arts education organization to develop groundbreaking programs which address academic achievement, problem-solving and life skills. Big Thought's success is built upon a foundation of powerful and effective partnerships with civic, educational, arts and cultural resources to provide high quality education programming both in and out of school.Big Thought serves as the managing partner of Thriving Minds, a citywide system that joins the City of Dallas, Dallas Independent School District and more than 100 other organizations such as libraries, faith organizations, recreation centers and others to provide enriched instruction to youth participating in this unique after school program. Annually, this innovative partnership serves more than 300,000 children, families and teachers and delivers more than one million hours of individual creative instruction and programming.Young Audiences of North Texas, a program of Big Thought, offers a wide range of programming, including curriculum integrated workshops, performances, artist residences and master classes. These programs are carried out in schools, libraries and other venues to help close the educational gap in the arts. Dallas ArtsPartners is a groundbreaking collaboration between education, city and cultural organizations. Through this partnership, Big Thought coordinates and delivers more than 500 cultural outreach services, provides professional development to educators and leverages funding resources to help schools access and deliver high quality instructional programming. In 2009, Big Thought was tapped by the North Texas Super Bowl XLV Host Committee to create the region's largest service-learning initiative, SLANT 45: Service Learning Adventures in North Texas. Today, more than 50,000 youth have given close to a half million hours of service throughout North Texas-showcasing the value creative learning has on a child's ability to reason, design and turn thought into action. Big Thought continues to pledge its services to offer engaging program opportunities to children and families in-school, after-school, during the summer and throughout their neighborhoods and communities as part of a collective goal to help students become more imaginative, adaptable and productive adults. | Description |
